Research And Investigation Of Petdog Dermatomycosis In Beijing

An experiment has been statistically studied based on all recorded 239 dermatomycosis cases of dogs from 2001 to 2002 in the animal hospital at Beijing Agriculture University. The factors on the diseased dogs, such as, ages, periods, variety, gender and positions, have been analyzed and tabulated. In the mean time, the microsporum gypseum, which is stronger pathogenetic, has been detached and cultivated. The bacterial strains have been manually inoculated on 120 positions among 20 healthy infant hybrid dogs, and the dermatomycosis on dogs has been induced. The pathogenetic status, microscopic inspects, and pathogentical periods have been recorded afterwards by modifying skin of these dogs. (These dogs were separated into 5 group, the dogs in the first group were injected with dexamethasone sodium phosphate, the dogs in the second group were injected in muscle with 氨西林钠, the dogs in the third group were daubed with erythromycin ointment, the dogs in the fourth group were daubed with shampoo for man, the dogs in the fifth group were referent one).The analysis on clinical cases indicated that the ages for occurring of dog dermatomycosis are mainly under one year old; that the prevalent pathogenetic time is summer, spring is next; and that Beijing dogs are the most susceptible kind, British Cocker Spaniel and American Cocker Spaniel are the second, the hybrid dogs and Duchshund also occupied a certain proportion in Beijing area.The incidence rate of dog dermatomycosis depends on the gender. The incidence rate of male dogs (66.53%) is far higher than that of female dogs (32.64%), The rate for dogs after sterilization operations is very low.The part with highest incidence rate of dermatomycosis on dog body is ear (29.33%), the second is dorsum (19.56%), the lowest part is nose (0.63%).In the experiments with manually induced dermatomycosis, the incidence rate is highest if Ampicilin is used, the pathogenetic period is 8.2 days. The period is 8.6 days and 10.9 days respectively if dexamethasone and erythromycin ointment are used.
