The thesis was carried out to study the effects of an extract from Chinese herbs on production performance and some biological and biochemical index of blood in broiler. Two trials were included in the thesis. In the first trial, eight hudred 4-day-old broilers were selected. They were assigned into controlâ… (based diet), controlâ…¡(based diet + antibictic), treatmentâ… (based diet + 0.1% extract), treatmentâ…¡(based diet + 0.2% extract), treatmentâ…¢(based diet + 0.4% extract), treatmentâ…£(based diet + 1% Chinese herbs). Compared to controlâ… , three extract groups' survival rate of broiler increases by 1.6~2.2%, and daily weight gain increases by 9.9~12.6(p<0.05), and intake increases by 12.9~18.1%(p<0.01). Comparing with control â…¡, survival rate of broiler increases by 2.5~3.2%, and daily weight gain and intake of treatmentâ…  and treatmentâ…¢ is not significant (p>0.05).In the second trial, eighty 4-day-old broilers were selected. At the age of 24 days and 45 days, broilers were examined for some biological and biochemical index. Compared to control 1, the number of White blood cell(WBC) and Lymphocte(Lymph) decreases by 9.6~14.2% and 16.2~20.2% respectively, the content of Immunoglobulin M(IgM) decreases by 40%(p<0.01), and the content of tatol protein(TP), albumin(ALB), bloodurea nitrogen (BUN), Immunoglobulin G(IgG) and the active of glutamate-pyruvate transaminnase (GPT) and glutamate-oxaloacetate transaminnase(GOT) are not significant at the age of 24 days. At the age of 45 days, comparing with control 1, the content of IgG increases by 15%(p<0.05), the others' index is not significantly.
