| Through analyzing and comparing heat resistance of eight pepper cultivars, three cultivars which have obvious differences in heat resistance are picked out. Then, with these three cultivars, we study effects of selenium on growth and development, distribution of selenium contents and the physiological indexes related to heat resistance in pepper seedlings. Results are as follows, selenium treatments can promote seedlings growth, taking a role to cultivate high quality seedlings in range of concentrations, but three cultivars produce distinctly different effects in time and treatment levels; selenium contents are greatly improved in every organ after adding selenium, different cultivars have different selenium contents distributed in diverse organs; in range of concentrations, selenium application can change chlorophyll contents and a/b, improving leaves photosynthetic ability, modulate protective enzymes abilities, especially improve GSH-Px ability, promote GSH contents and lower MDA contents, these show selenium can improve heat resistance of pepper seedlings. |
