Selenium was the essential micro-element that maintain human and animal health body. Since the selenium range between beneficial and toxicity was very narrow, so the safety of adding selenium to moderate. Se through the soil can made inorganic selenium that was absorbed by the garlic into organic selenium, increasing the biological activity, and easy to be absorb by human body. Therefore, the study was significantly that was about the enriched ability of selenium and the effects of different indicators on garlic. Garlic was the test samples and the sodium selenite was selenium source, to study the effects of growth and development, selenium content, yield and quailty on garlic through different amounts of selenium was soil application. The results showed that:Approprate amount of selenium can acclerate the growth and development. Agronomic traits and physiological traits were comprehensive analysis of garlic, the right amount of selenium can acclerate growth, increase in plant height, improve the false stem, transverse diameter and chlorophyll content, heighten the leaf area and dry material accumulation of garlic, the activity of antioxidant enzymes of leaves was enhanced by appropriate selenium, improving the antioxidant capacity, postponing the anti-aging, the role of excessive amount was contrary.Selenium content was much higher in selenium treatment than not handing of bulb, selenium content was increased with the amount of selenium, and the highest selenium concentration up to a hundred times than contrast. organic selenium was the majority existence and inorganic selenium was only a small part in garlic.Appropriate selenium significantly increased the yield and had much effect on relevant traits constitute of yield. It can get to a maximum 11.18 percent, whose height, diameter, the total number of valve, single bulb weight, biological yield and economic output were the largest and the rate of small valve was smallest. The excessive amount of selenium resulted in reduction of 2.92 percent, and its small rate was the largest and the smallest of other production-related traits.Reducing sugar content was reduced, and the vitamin C, protein, amino acid content were increased, improved the quality of garlic significantly.Comprehensive analysis the effect of garlic on growth and development, yield and quality,and the safety on human and livestock used for food, the best was 0.45g/m~2.
