Hong cai lai(Brassica campestris L.ssp. Chinensis Lvar. utilis Tsen et Lee . 2n=2x=20), is a special product vegetable in Chinese Yangtze River, whose taste is special and whose nourishment is plentiful. Along with our country's healthy and sustaining development in economy and the level of the peoples life continuously improving, the peoples request of production and consumption of Hong cai tai is also increasingly enhancing. Therefore, it is very important for our country to quicken the research of Hong cai tai" s heterosis and the speed of breeding in selection of new varieties .Hong cai tai is a crop of cross-pollination, whose heterosis is very evident. People are paying more attention to male-sterile line in the means of heterosis of Hong cai tai now. whose transfer & utilization rely on abundant resources of male sterility in Crucifer crops. Interspecific hybridization & intergeneric hybridization is still an efficent approach to obtaining male sterility resources, especially for cytoplasmic male-sterile lines. The sterility origins of transfer are the Brassic napus L. Polima sterility material and the Brassic napus L. Ogura sterility material in this study. The Hong cai tai's Polima and Ogura male-sterile lines are established by firstly using the above sterile origin to cross-fertilize with Hong cai tars variety, then backcross transforming and finally selective investigation.The parent of back-cross is jiu yue xian- with which to transfer Hong cai tai's Polima and Ogura male-sterile lines by multi-generations in this study. The comparative study was carried on the male-sterile lines for academic basis of the heterosis of Hong cai tai. The main results were as follows:1. By comparatively morphological study on Hong cai tai's Polima and Ogura male-sterile lines' anther development the anther development of Hong cai tai's Polima male-sterile line was blocked without anther at the stage of archesporial cell. The few pollen and no anther cell was observed without forming the tapetum and the middle layer; while the anther development of Hong cai tai's Ogura male-sterile line was blocked without anther at the stage of microspore mother cell & tetrads of microspores, observing the tapetum cell abnormal and tetrads of microspores being extruded. In the end the tapetum cell and tetrads of microspores disaggregated.2. By comparative study on Hong cai tai's Polima male-sterile line, three back-cross generations and their maintainer line, the flower organs of Pol CMS line become smaller than its maintainer line, further more some of its flower organ character also becomesmaller with the increase of backcross generation.3. By determining the content of leaf chlorophyll of Hong cai tai's Ogura CMS, the result showed that there were significant differences in the different combination of BC1 generation of Ogura CMS just the item like chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b?chlorophyll a+b and chlorophyll a/ chlorophyll b.4. The primary study on the inheritance law of backcross generations' agronomic characters was made, thinking out that the Hong cai tai's Polima CMS line has the perfect characteristic of early bolting and the Ogura CMS line's fecundity should be improved.
