Prologue : Hypophysis is a crucial endocrine gland of animal. It can produce and secrete kinds of hormone to adjust physiological actives of body. This research use the hypophysis of mares in breeding season to analyse the effect of different age and gestational states on the morphocytology of FSH and LH cells and the serum concentration of FSH and LH. [Materials and methods] 1. Research of the changes on morphocytology of FSH and LH of female Mongolian pony in breeding season: classify the mares basis on the different states of age and gestation. Measure the weight and volume of pituitary. And then.be on sectioning and staining of hematoxylin-eosin and immunohistochemistry. Finally, we use the morphologic methods to observe and statistic the results. By these methods, we probe the correlation between the weight, volumn of pituitary, the morphocytological changes of FSH and LH and the different state of age and gestation in mares 2. Changes on mares serum concentration of FSH and LH in breeding season: By the technology of RIA and immunoelectronmicroscopy, we statistic the results of FSH and LH.And then, combinate the morphological character of granules in cytoplasm of FSH and LH cells to analyse the effect of age and gestational states on the changes of FSH and LH serum concentration in mares. [Results and conclusions] 1. Pituitary shape: The pituitary shape of prepuberal mares is ellipse, and others mares' s are bean shape. These results showed that the shape of mare has the character, which changes with the aging; 2. Weight and volumn of pituitary: With aging, the pituitary weight and volumn of nongestational mares are increasing, furthermore, old mare's greater than theprepuberal mares obviously(P<0.05). Moreover, the pituitary weight and volumn of gestational mares are greater than nongestational signlly(P<0.05). It showed that mare's age and gestational state have important effects on weight and volumn of mare's pituitary: 3. The size of FSH and LH cell: The diamaters of FSH and LH have not obvious difference between gestation mares and gestational(P>0.05). For nongestational mares with difference age, the diamater s changes of FSH and LH cell are difference. Other than old mares, other mare's diamater of FSH and LH cell are increased with aging. The diamater of FSH cell in middle mare is great than others signlly(P<0.05) and diamater of the LH cell in young , middle mare are great than prepuberal and old mare obviously(P<0.05). Results showed that the size of FSH and LH cell in mares has relation with age, and the gestational state has not obvious effect on it; 4. The quantity of FSH cell and LH cell: The quantities of FSH cell in old nongestational mares are greater than prepuberal, young, old mares signlly(P <0.05), and the LH cell's quantities are lower than others obviously(P< 0.05). Additional, the quantities of FSH cell and LH cell in nongestational mares are greater than gestational signlly(P<0.05). These results indicate that the age and gestational state of mares are the important factor to effect the quantity of FSH cell and LH cell; 5.The concentration of FSH , LH in mares and the granules in cytoplasm of FSH and LH cells: The serum concentration of FSH and LH in gestation mares are greater than the nongestational obviously (P <0.05), but for gestational mares , the quantities and size of granules in cytoplasm of LH cells have not obvious difference compare with nongestational mares. The quantities of granules in gestational mares's FSH cells are greater than old nongestational, which close to nongestational prepuberal, young and middle mares. The size of FSH granules in gestational mares is bigger than others. The serum concentration of LH in gestational mares are increased with aging, but there have not signlly different (P >0.05).among difference age. The quantities of LHgranules in old nongestational mares are lower than others mares , for all that, the size of LH granules among nongestational mares with difference age has not signlly different. Furthermore, The serum con...
