| The mule duck was produced using artificial insemination method which muscovy duck were selected as paternity and Cherry Valley duck, Jingding duck and Cherry valley X Jinding duck as maternal line respectively. To screen the optimal cross combination for extension in local region, the growth rate and survival rate and economic efficiency were calculated each group and the carcass traits and nutrients of liver and breast and leg muscles were compared. The technical index of artificial index was also evaluated. The availability of extension model of "base+peasant+broker" was discussed also. The results showed that:1 The production performance of muscovy X Cherry Valley mule ducks were the best while muscovy X Cherry Valley X Jinding mule ducks were better than second muscovy X Jinding mule ducks for ten-week body weight, feed conversion ratio, meat prduction efficiency and ecnomic efficiency. Although muscovy X Cherry valley was lower than muscovy X Cherry Valley X Jinding and muscovy X Jinding mule duck for dressing percentage, half net thorax percentage and whole net thorax percentage, except for water percentage and fat percentage.2 The optimal sperm volume was 0.05 ml and available sperm 0.8-1 X 106 for artificial insemination, average fertility rate was 71.5% while 34.8% for nature mating and the production efficiency of drake was 15 times than ever. The incubation period was 29.5 days for muscovy X Cherry Valley mule duck while it was 30 days for muscovy X Cherry ValleyX Jinding mule duck and muscovy X Jinding mule duck. The normal parameters of mule duck incubation was also defined.3 To extend mule duck, the "base+ peasant-)- broker" model was adopted using SWOT method which solve the technology and market problem for peasant. The mule duck farmers reached to 39, the number of mule duck was up to 129 thousands and 263 thousands yuan were produced.
