Mule-duck is one of meat duck breeds.Using microsatellite marker to find major genes which control the meat performance,and further to analyze the genetic relationship of the major genes will provide theoretical basis to excellent parent selection and breeding.Marker assisted selection has become an effective way to solve this problem and in order to ensure MAS to make a marked effect on breeding process.It is now the chief task to find closely linked DNA marker or quality traits loci.SSR has been applied into DNA mapping,QTL and marking genetic loci,widely.This study presented the genetic marker analysis of growth performance,the carcass traits in 120 Mule-duck(F1:(?)Muscovy duck×♀Peking duck,Keeping the same conditions) with PCR-SSR technique. The major purpose was to obtain the effective DNA marker information,which could become scientific and reliable referred foundation of making molecular breeding technology to be used in meat duck breeding successfully.Growth fattening,carcass traits,DNA SSR polymorphism,correlation of phenotypic character, correlation between DNA SSR polymorphism,and phenotypic characters including performance and carcass traits were all analyzed in the experiment.The results of this study were followed:1) The meat performance of Mule-duck accelerated at the age of 0~5 weeks(average weekly gain was 0.263kg),and got maximal at the age of 6~10 weeks(average weekly gain was 0.381kg,and the body weight was 3.275±0.196kg at the age of 10 weeks),and then decreased.2) The average dressing percentage,whole net carcass rate,half net carcass rate,breast muscle rate, leg muscle rate,and abdominal fat rate were 90.1%,79.3%,82.0%,17.5%,8.5%,and 1.0%, respectively.The meat has a good performance.3) Polymorphism was found in four loci of 12 selected loci.The average number of alleles, heterozygosity,and polymorphism information content(PIC) were 3,0.350,and 0.569,respectively.4) The correlation analysis and multiple comparisons between the genotypes and growth performance with F test,carcass traits showed that genotypes in the locus MCW185,ADL212 influenced body length and chest circumference,body weight in 10 weeks,significantly(P<0.05).Genotypes in the locus MCW67 influenced live body weight,carcass weight,half net carcass rate,whole net carcass rate,body length, and chest circumference(P<0.05).Genotypes in the locus ADL212 influenced live body weight,carcass weight,half net carcass rate,and whole net carcass rate(P<0.05).The conclusion was that SSR loci used in this study contented abundant polymorphism information and could be effective DNA marker m MAS and QTL.The locus MCW185 could be a marker for body size selection.The locus ADL212 could be a marker for carcass selection.
