China is very affluent in orchid resources, but some species are endangered ones. Therefore, it is very urgent and necessary to study on conservation and utilization of orchid resources in China. In this present dissertation, the distribution and ecological adaptation of orchid species in Hubei was systematically studied using investigation on the spot and informal discussion, and the actuality of conservation and culture of orchid resources in Hubei and the reasons causing the actuality was investigated. Based on the items mentioned above, combining information collected all around China, the actuality of conservation and utilization of orchid resources in China was analyzed in the dissertation, some problems on conservation and utilization of orchid resources in China were found below: 1. orchid resources were excessively utilized, spoiling the habitats of orchid resources; 2. there are no enough laws and legal rules to be used in conservation of orchid resources; 3. natural conservation zones, conservation plots and conservation sites have not been established; 4. utilization way of orchid resources has been direct and raw. According to the problems mentioned above, some countermeasures were suggested below: 1. it is strengthened to establish and disseminate related laws and rules about orchid resources; 2. it is strengthened to conserve natural habitats of orchid resources; it is urgent and necessary to conserve orchid resources in new places; 4. orchid resources should be conserved in vitro using modern biological techniques; 5. it is strengthened to study breeding and propagation of orchid resources; 6. it is necessary to invest a great deal of bankroll in conservation of orchid resources and culture of workers and researchers.
