The experiment was conducted to study on the effects of various formulas and concentrations of new plant growth regulators(PGR) on nitrogen metabolism, grain protein content, grain protein yield and photosynthesis characters of maize by selecting a optimal PGR and its optimal concentration with plot trial .The main results as followed:(1) The senescence rate of leaves were delayed, the chlorophyll content and the rate of net photosynthesis of functional leaves of maize could be increased.(2) The transferring rate of total N and protein N in the functional leaves and stems could be promoted after PGR were spared.(3) The activities of nitrate reductase, glutamine synthetase, glutamine transferase were higher in some extent thafi that of Con, and glutamine synthetase and glutamine transferase of grain were higher than that of Con as well. The optimal formulas was PGR2, the optimal concentration was PGR2-1.(4) When spared PGR the content of total N, protein N, spring maize yield and protein yield in spring maize could be increased. The maize yield of PGR1,PGR2,PGR3,PGR4 were increased by 3.44%, 7.14%, 4.96%,2.61% as compared with CK. The protein yield in spring maize grain were increased by 6.12%,10.86%,6.36%,4.69%. The content of protein N were increased by 0.54g.kg-1,0.67g.kg-1,0.35g.kg-1,0.46g.kg-1,as compared with that of CK, that meant the protein yield were increased by 3.38g.kg-1,4.19g.kg-1, 2.19g.kg-1,2.88g.kg-1.(5) When spared PGR the content of total N, protein N, autumn maize yield and protein yield in autumn maize could be increased. The maize yield of PGR2-l,PGR2-2 ,PGR2-3 were increased by 10.62%,4.23%,6.00% as compared with CK. The autumn maize grain were increased by 15.24%,6.02%,7.16%.The content of protein N were increased by 0.59g.kg-1,0.24g.kg-1,0.16g.kg-1,as compared with that of CK, that meant the protein yield were increased by 3.69g.kg-1,1.50g.kg-1,1.00g.kg-1.(6) The optimal formulas was PGR2, the optimal concentration was PGR2-1 by comprehensive compared...
