Under the condition of non-tillage direct-seeding cultivation, the fertilizing on the soil surface resulted in fertilizer lose and volatilize quickly. Therefore, the fertilizer use efficiency is low. But the fertilizing by splitting with a small amount needs more labors. This research was conducted to study the efficiency of slowly -released fertilizer on non-tillage direct-seeding paddy rice through the comparison research of different fertilizer types and different application rates of coated compound fertilizer. The main results were summarized as follows:1. Under the non-tillage direct seeding condition, the similar grain yield was harvested between the coat compound fertilizer treatment and traditional fertilizer one. But using coated compound fertilizer saved labors by 1-2 workdays/667m2 and 2-3 times/667m2 of the fertilizing compared with the control.2.Slowly-release-fertilizer can meet the needs of the paddy rice's growth, reduce ineffective tillering and increase total grains and filled grains per panicle. The alkali hydrolysable N content in the soil by using the coat compound fertilizer increased 16-45mg/kg over the control.3.Using coated compound fertilizer reduced ineffective tillers compared with the control. Under the non-tillage direct seeding condition, the treatment had less tiller number than the control but had the similar ear-bearing panicles.4. The recommended fertilizing rate of coated compound fertilizer was60kg/667m for Liangpeinjiusan and 50kg/667m for Liangyoupeijiu.
