Research On Technology Of Urban Forest Construction, Taking Shanghai As An Example

The plan of introducing the forest into the city was implemented in Shanghai in 2000,and the urban forest construction began cosmically. I participated in the planning and design works of Shanghai urban forests in 2003 luckily. Based on the investigation of the practical cases of urban forest in shanghai in combination with the practice of many design projects,this paper illustrates the theoritic bases and principles of urban forest contruction,and proposes to construct the ecological network system of shanghai urban forest from three elements of point, line and surface, and taking chongming ecological and recreation forest as an exemple , points out the concepts, ways, contents and procedures of the planning and design urban forest.The paper is described as following five parts:In the first part, the summary of urban forest is described. Firstly the urban forest is defined. Secondly, the background is introduced,regarding urban forest as the necessary result of morden forestry development.Thirdly,it describes the function.present situation of urban forest research ,focus issuses and development trends. Finally ,the ranges of urban forest are argued, and urban forest between natural forest .landscape architecture and urban green area are compared.In the second part ,the author recommends the current situations of Shanghai urban afforesting and greening and urban forests. The thesis demonstrates the necessity and feasibility of urban forest construction in shanghai .In succession.the current situation of the urban forests of Shanghai is analysized and summarized .In the third part, based on the investgation on-site ,four representative types of urban forest cases in shanghai have been expatiated from their construction objective, construction ideas, construction ways and forest communities structure. These forests are urban ecological shanghai outer-ring road belts, huangpu river water conservation forest, pujiang ecological and recreation forest.shanghai century forest.In the fourth part, the technology of urban forest contruction in Shanghai is discussed detailedly. The author points out urban forest construction must follow the the guides of theories and principles of ecology, landscape ecology and forest aesthetics and landscape aesthstic, which are refined, sum up and analysized and whose applicatipon in urban forest construction are introduced . And the technologies of urban forest are expounded which include forest landscape planning , forest community design , design of the forest detailed elements and practice technology ,etc. The precedures are introduced too. Subsequently, the construction of the ecological network system of shanghai urban forest is disscussed from three elements of point, line and surface.In the last part, the author introduces the practical project of chongming ecological andrecreation forest planning and design . Site analysis, design principles, plannning, forest community design , design of forest detailed elements and terrain design are presented ,in order to find the suitable way of urban forest planning and design from the combination theory and practice.
