Observing with the electronic microscope, the shape of the w-BmNPV collected from the infected Bombyx mandarina Moore differs apparently from that of the BmNPV. After screening from the infected Bombyx mandarina Moore body by the plaque method and amplifying in the Bombyx mori L cells, the virus are handled in the followed research.The shape of the w-BmNPV, despite infecting Bombyx mandarina Moore or Bombyx mori L, is hexagon while shape of BmNPV is both quadrilateral and hexagon in the different circumstances. That is to say, w-BmNPV is more stable than BmNPV. Moreover, we find the virulence of the w-BmNPV is stronger than BmNPV.We analyze the relationship among w-BmNPV, BmNPV and ApNPV by the technology of RAPD. The result shows that the relationship between w-BmNPV and BmNPV is closer.We perform the clone and sequence analysis of the polyhedron gene of the w-BmNPV. Compare with the sequence of BmNPV, there are three bases different in the ORF, site+22, +703 and +711 separately. The differences make the polyhedron changed. Pro both in site +7 and site +229 change to Ser. While there is no change in site +711 when A replaces G. Judge from the secondary configuration of the protein composed of Ser and Pro, the polyhedron of w-BmNPV should be more stable than BmNPV, which is consistent to our research result.
