The experiment selected ten varieties including 5 A Hne(BoA,You I A,JinA,QiuA,LinghongA) and 5 R line(Gui99,Ce258,Ce253,Ce22,Xinhuil4).ll quality characters and 12 agronomic characters were studied by the way of p q incomplete dialele cross (NCII) design.The experiment mainly analyzed the relation between FI hybrids and their parents on quality and agronomic characters.The results showed:1 .The maximum CV was chalky rice percentage.The CV of head rice rate and milled rice length were bigger relatively. The minimum CV were brown rice rate and milled rice rate.For mostly quality characters.the value of combinations' quality characters tended to A line.2.The chalky rice percentage and chalky area percentage of FI hybrids haven't one combination achieving 2nd class of quality standard NY122-86,issued by the Minitry of Agriculture,China.And gelatinization temperature (alkali spreading value) of FI hybrids just had 20% combination achieved 1st class of quality standard.3.In agronomic characters,planicles/plant,effective tillerrate,spikelet fertility, 1000-grains weight and yield/plant put up strongly ever male parent heterosis (especially over A line heterosis);Furthermore,the value of agronomic characters of combinations tended to R line.4.1n the dominance degree,based on the tests of relative heterosis of all characters in all hybrids,the frequency of negative dominance and heterosis was muchhigher than that of positive dominance and heterosis,indicating that the values of F1 hybrids were lower than the means of their parents in quality characters as a whole.On the contrary,the results of agronomic characters were oppersite compared with quality characters.5.In dominance index,There existed apparent disparity in grain quality performance among FI hybrids which varied with characters.The characters chalky area percentage,chalky rice percentage,gel consistency and head rice rate had a great variation in all kinds of tests heterosis indices including mid-parent heterosis index.heterosis index over high-value parent,and heterosis index over low-value parent,which seggest that special attention should be paid to selection of F1 hybrids in these characters in breeding.The characters of total grains/plant,spikelet fertility,effective tiller rate,planicles/plant,maximum tillers/plant had a great variation in all kinds of tests heterosis indeces including mid-parent heterosis index,heterosis index over high-value parent,and heterosis index over low-value parent, which seggest that special attention should be paid to selection of FI hybrids in these agronomic characters in breeding.
