There are abundant collections of soybean in China. More than 23000 accessions of soybean germplasm resources are stored in Chinese National Genebank. Many of them, however, are entitled the same name. It is important to evaluate the redundance possibility in Genebank. In this study, 6 major groups were selected and analyzed. They are serials of Mancangjins, Xihuangdous, Tanerdans, Niumaohuangs, Xiaozihuangs and Pingdinghuangs. At the meanwhile, some of their parents, relatives and accessions that originate from the same province were selected as CK. A total of 13 agronomic traits and a set of 60 core primers were used to characterize differences between the homonymic accessions, and to determine the evolutionary relationship between each other. 1. For Mancangjins, there were 28 accessions were selected.151 alleles with average 6.6 alleles per locus have been detected by 23 pairs of SSR primers which come from the 60 core primers. The average genetic similarity is 0.31. All of 19 accessions named Mancangjin can be differentiated by only 5 loci. Compared.the genetic relationship of Mancangjins with their supposed parents Jinyuan and Huangbaozhu, there was no Mancangjin was selected which derived from the crossing by Jinyuan and Huangbaozhu.2. There were 33 accessions named Xihuangdou were selected. 60 pairs of SSR core primers detected 334 alleles with average 5.5 alleles per locus. The average genetic similarity of Xihuangdou is 0.31which is highest than other groups. 3. The same 60 core primers were used to detect 153 accessions which origin from Huanghuai summer ecotype. 557 alleles were gotten and the average genetic similarity is 0.25.4. Comparing the phenotypic and molecular data, the accessions entitled the same name are all different. All materials in this test are valuable to be stored in Chinese Gene Bank and be estimated in core collection establishment. 5. There is no correlation between phenotypic data and molecular data through the correlation analysis by SAS. So it is necessary to refer to the both data together.
