125 rice varieties introduced from Japan in 2002 were planted and observed, the variance of yield were carried out for 2002~2003 in Sichuan agricultural university, main agronomic and quality characters of different rice types were analyzed and remarked, included partly varieties eating quality. The yield of 29 rice varieties was carried on variance analysis, the results were as followed:1, A comparation among different rice varieties with sow-heading days was studied; The materials, sow -heading days which were planted in local area were averagely shortened 3-7 days (the most shorten 20 days, the least shorten 1 day) than those were planted in Japan. Most varieties' sow -heading days ranged from 90 to 120 days, accounted for 90.4% of total amount, it is extremely obvious that the type of Japonica were influenced by the varying latitude. Indicia and Java varieties types took second place, the length of plant in different rice types existed in obviously difference, the length of plant range from 60.5 to 194.7cm, the higher of length of plant concentrated on Indicia and Java type. The length of plant in majority Japonica rice lied in 90.l~105.0cm, Panicle length range between 9.54cm and 31.86cm. the total tendency was that Japonica rice's panicle was the longest, followed by Indicia type's and then Japonica rice was extremely late. As far as flag leaf of long-wide and its angle were concerned, the condition of received light was best for India type, Japonica type was second, Java took third place because of its wide angle and bad received light condition. The change of yield in different varieties was extremely remarkable. The yield range from 8349.26 to 2571.05 kg/ hm2, The highest yield of W132 (Japonica type) was 8349.26kg/hm2 . This yield was close to CK-Eyou-540 (8947.80kg/hm2). India type was superior to Japonica in yield constitutesfactor, and according to rice resource standard was established by Feng zhong-hua, 24 rice varieties includedW155. W132) compared with CK were chosen as eminent breed resource in plant shape, indices of yield, growth duration etc.2> Milled and appearance quality of the material were all-good, japonica rice was the best of three types, India rice was inferior comparatively, partly indices of Java rice were between japonica and Java rice. Amylose content were extremely discrepancy in different rice types, it ranges from 2.50% to 30%. There were much varieties whose amylose content were higher than 25% in India types, Amylose content of japonica rice mainly concentrated in 5%-20% and the average Gel. Consistency of japonica rice was 91.17 mm, India rice were longer than japonica rice. The change of GT (average 6.15) and protein was a little in different rice types, Protein content was low; it ranged from 794 to 894. Eating quality of the majority rice varieties was good, fragrance, taste and aspect of synthesize remark were very well, the strong sticky and low rigidity were represented, 6 indices of eating quality were determined, eating quality of 4 varieties equaled or superiored to CK. it were jiagaocheng, jia!52. W140. W132.eating quality of jiagaocheng was the best, indices of cooking and appearance quality were a title bad, 46 excellent varieties such as J207, D43, J210, J223, J224 jiagaocheng etc that reached tertiary grade according to country's standard of high quality grain were chosen. It accounted to 36.894 of the total; Japonica type was majority among those.3, 13 Rice types with plant of short, higher brown rice rate, lower chalky rice ratecolor rice, fragrance rice and function rice were chosen according to the corresponding^ indices of evolution on rice resource of China. Resource of 386 with special quality andagronomy character were remarked and chosen. Varieties of 11 such as J210, WHO. W115, jiagaocheng etc with the better agronomy and quality character were chosen by synthesize relatively excellent properties of each indices.
