In order to unearth high-quality rice resources,65 rice varieties introduced from Sri Lanka were planted and observed in Sichuan Agricultural University in 2008, the main agronomic and quality property were analyzed and remarked. The results were as followed:1 Agronomic properties analysis of introduced varietiesIntroduced materials sowing-heading days ranged from 88 to 152d,84.6% of materials distributed in 100-140d; And entire period of duration ranged form 137 to189d. Most materials'entire period of duration ranged from 150 to179d, accounted for 73.8% of total amount. The plant height ranged from 82.12 to 139.70cm,84.6% of materials distributed in 90-119cm,4 materials of plant height shorter than 90cm. The length of flag leaf ranged from 24.20 to 61.88cm.49 materials of the length of flag leaf distributed in 30-45cm, accounted for 75.4% of total amount.5 materials of the length flag leaf were longer than 50cm. The length of the second leaf ranged from 37.18 to 68.28cm,93.8% of materials distributed in 40-60cm, and 5 materials of the second leaf length were longer than 60cm. The width of flag leaf ranged from 1.40 to 2.43cm. The width of second leaf ranged from 1.25 to 2.20 cm. The area of flag leaf ranged from 31.39 to 99.99cm2. Area of second leaf ranged from 37.20 to 112.62cm2. The length ear ranged from 20.58 to 32.64cm. The first branch number ranged from 9.4 to 17.6, the second branch number ranged from 17.2~75.8. The ear of total number of seeds ranged from 128.4 to 352 grain,8 materials of ear total number were more than 300grain.Coefficient of variation of the second branch number, flag leaf area, ear of total number of seeds were big, the plant height, ear length had small variation coefficient. Width of flag leaf, width and length of second leaf had small variation coefficient.2 Yield and its traits Analysis of introduced varietiesEffective panicles per plant ranged from 5.91 to17.33 piece,76.9% of materials distributed in 7-13 piece, and 2 materials of the effective panicles were more than 17piece. The number of filled grains ranged from 33.6 to 268.2grain,5 materials of the number of filled grains were more than 250grain. The 1000-grain weight ranged from 11.57 to 29.51g,10 materials of 1000-grain weight were lighter than 15g,13 materials were heavier than 25g. The seed setting rate ranged from 14.62 to 92.96%,90.8% of materials distributed in 50~90%.4 materials of seed setting rate were more than 90%. The sterile grain rate ranged from 7.04 to 85.32%,90.77% of materials distributed in 10~50%. The actual yield ranged from 0.33 to 1.02kg/m2,75.4% of materials distributed in 0.4-0.8kg/m2. Significant positive correlations also existed between actual yield and 1000-grains weight. It shows that improving rice grain weight can help to enhance the actual yield. Coefficient of variation of sterile grain rate, filled grains number and actual yield between materials were big.3 Rice quality properties of introduced varietiesMilled quality and appearance quality of major introduced materials were all-good.37 materials reached the 1st level of national standards in brown rice rate aspect. In milled rice rate aspect,11 materials reached above the 2nd level of national standards.11 materials reached the 1st level of national standards in head milled rice rate aspect. In chalky rice rate aspect,35 materials reached the 1st level of national standards. The amylose content ranged from 21.35 to 29.34%,55.4% of materials reached above the high quality standards. In RVA profile characters, break-down ranged from 10.59 to 75 RVU,11 materials of the break-down were more than 60 RUV. Setback ranged from 34.04 to 109.84RVU. Eating quality of major introduced materials were general. Fragrance and synthetic evaluation were very well, but the strong hardness and low adhesiveness were represented.5 materials equaled or superiored to CK(gangyou 527) in 6 indices of eating quality. It contain sc105, sc148, sc154, sc163, sc168, eating quality of sc148 was the best. The protein content was low, it ranged form 6 to 8%, accounted for 81.54% of total amount,4 materials of protein content reached above the 2nd level of national standards. The content of Lys ranged form 2.14 to 3.99mg/g, and the average is 3.15mg/g. Coefficient of variation of chalky rice rate, break-down, trough viscosity and setback between materials were big.19 excellent materials reached tertiary grade according to country standard of high quality grain were chosen. It accounted to 29.23% of the total, sc137 and sc138 reached second grade. 4 Comprehensive analysis of agronomy, yield and quality of introduced varietiesCorrelation analyses results were as follows:short growth period, short plant height, short and narrow functional leaf advantaged the enhancement of yield, peak viscosity and break-down, reduced setback, peak time, sof rice in order to improve eating-cooking quality of rice,while did not favor the apparent quality (chalky rice rate)of rice.11 rice types were chosen according to the corresponding indices of evolution on rice resource of China, including plant of short, multi-panicle type, large-panicle variety, large Grain, Small Grain, red rice germplasm resources, large-panicle and Small Grain, high rate of brown rice, high milled rice, low chalky, high amylose. Materials of 4 such as sc102,sc126,136,sc146 with the better agronomy and quality character were chosen by synthesize relatively excellent properties of each indices. These excellent materials resource were chosen for high quality breeding.
