| Hunshandake Sandy Land is one of the four largest sandy lands in Inner Mongolia. Located in Xilinguole grassland, Zhenglan County is one of the important pastoral areas in China. In resent years, the quality of grassland resources in this area has declined sharply due to overgrazing and deterioration of natural environment.With Zhenglan County in the centre of Hunshandake Sandy Land as an example, based on the work of former authors and the data collected outdoors, the grassland resources in Zhenglan County has been classified and evaluated concerning different types of grassland. Considering facts of the local area, basic strategies and measures to explore and utilize the grassland resourses are put forward, which provide scientific basis for the development of grassland animal husbandry.This article has evaluated the natural grassland resources in Zhenglan County fromfive aspects: potential productivity of grassland, nourishment of grassland, gradation of grassland, species diversity and animal carrying capacity of grassland. |
