| Morel is a delicious large edible fungus world wide, which belongs to the genus Morchella, Helvellaceae, Pezizales, Discomyteces, Ascomycotina. Morel is not only valuable in terms of economy, but also a important role in ecosystem. In Xinjiang, the R&D of morel possess potential both economic and ecological benefits. In this paper, the biological characterizations of three common morels were investigated systematically. The morphological, ecological and physiological studies were conducted. The optimal conditions for isolation and culture of mycelia, and also the formation of microsclerotia were described with comparison of a strain from other province. Besides, the total soluble proteins extracted from the three morels were analyzed using SDS-PAGE. The results showed that proteins from mycelia and fruiting body of the same species differs slightly, however, different species differ significantly. Even in the same species of Morchella esculenta, the strain from Xinjiang and Sichuan showed difference in some extent, indicating genetic dissimilarity from region to region. The conclusion provides theoretical foundation for the further development in artificial culture of morel. |
