Study On The Space-temporal Variation Of Land Use In The Sichuan Province

The time-space changes of land in Sichuan province were system analyzed, especially focused on plain, massif, mountains and plateau. The sample countys of plain were Shuangliu, Xinjin and Pujiang, the massif were Shantai and Xichong, the mountains were Tianquan and Luding, the plateau were Ruoergai and Heishui. The basic investigating materials included the detailed land use investigating data, the land use changing data and related society economic statistics data in these areas from 1990 to 2002. The analysis methods included mathematical statistics and data analysis, contrasting analysis, computer software statistics analysis and so on. The analyzing models includes the land use dynamic model, land use degree-changing model and the land use region-changing difference model. The results are as following:The principal land type in plain and massif districts was arable land, which was 45 percent of total land in these areas. The principal land type in mountains districts was woodland, which was 55 percent of the total land in these areas. The principal land type in plateau districts was grassland, which was 50 percent of the total land in these areas. Statistics shows that the tendency of land use proportion of arable land, garden plot, residential and industry-occupying land and traffic land decreases, while the tendency of grassland increased. The proportion of water areas in plain and massif districts was high, while the proportion of plateau was low, except few areas in plateau areas. The proportions of unexploited lands were high in the four type lands, but the proportion of massif and mountains were higher, which was 10% of total areas.The most decreased quickly districts of arable lands proportions were plain and massif, the next one was mountains, but less decreased in plateau districts. The proportions of arable land in total lands decreased 10.79% and 11.92 in Pujiang County and Xichong County, respectively, while the proportion decreased 0.02% in Ruoergai County. The tendency of unexplored lands decreased except in Xichong County, but the decreasing areas were far lessthan those of arable areas in which some lands had been changed into garden plot, resident lands, industrial lands and transportation lands which expanded very fast. Garden plots in the sample countys expanded quickly except Ruoergai County. Heishui was the most expanding quickly county, in which the increasing proportion was13.89%, the next one was Pujiang County, in which the increasing proportion was 13.11%. The increasing proportion of transportation lands in Shuangliu County was 5.81%, which was the most expanding quickly county. The next one was Pujiang in which was 2.93%. The most expanding quickly county of resident and Industrial-mining lands was Xichong, in which the increasing proportion was 1.86%, the next county was Chuangliu which was 1.73%. The grassland, forestry land and water areas changed slowly, but forestry land was increasing, grasslands was decreasing in plateau, while the water areas had no regular changing. The optimizing of land use in plain and massif districts in the last 3 years appeared the facts that the urban scale expanded, the land of water conservancy projects and traffic increased, unused land were reduced and the coverage rate of forest rate improved. There were no significant changes in mountains and plateau districts.The problems of land use were summarized, followed by the feasible, rational, safe, efficient and sustainable land use countermeasures. Therefore, the limited land resources can be programmed favorably, orderly and healthily.In sum, the time-space changes of land use of different topography and economic zones in Sichuan province were studied in this paper. The optimized measures of land use, the rational deploying of resources, the conflicts adjusting between populations and lands were analyzed respectively.
