Studies On The Toxicology Of Zhang Jia Jie Eucommia Ulmoides Extract

We demonstrated the effect of different doses of Eucommia ulmoides extract solution on mice acute toxicity, subchronic toxicity, the micronucleus rate of bone marrow cells, sperm deformity and reversion assay. The results show as follow:1. By gastrogavage , the maximum tolerance dose (MTD) of Eucommia ulmoides extract is over 18.52g/kg weight. The median lethal dose(LD50) of mice intraperitoneally injected Eucommia ulmoides extract solution is 2.57±0.15g/kg,95%of the limit of trust is 2.73 g/kg~2.42g/kgo .2. By gastrogavage , the middle and low dose(2.06 g/kg, 0.69 g/kg) of Eucommia ulmoides extract solution can improve the content Hemoglobin(Hb) and Red blood cell count, but have no effect on Neutrophilic granulocyte count, Lymphocyte count Basophilic granulocyte count and Monocyte count (p<0.01) .3. The middle and low doses of Eucommia ulmoides extract solution(2.06 g/kg, 0.69 g/kg) can increase mice weight,Total protein contents White protein content (p<0.01) ,but have no effect on indexes of spleen, lives hearts lung, kidney, sexual organ and the activation of serum enzyme (p>0.05) .4. High dose(6.17g/kg) of Eucommia ulmoides extract solution can improve the activation of GOT,GPT and the content of BUN (p<0.05) .5. Eucommia ulmoides extract solution has no effect on mice PCE(the micronucleus rate of bone marrow cell) having no deformed change of mice sperms and mutation of bacterial genes...
