The peasant households who contracted three branch state farms to plant cotton were investigated, and deeper investigations were carried on the main department of technology popularizing in the county government, agricultural technology managerial cadre of the state farm, and leaders of branch state farm at the same time . And four key prevention and cure technologies of cotton diseases and pests were analyzed systematically and scientifically, and finally the conclusion of this paper and the countermeasures were put forward.1. Peasant households are always unconscious of the environmental protection. As the peasant households usually pursuing maximized income, they prefer the agricultural chemicals subjectively and ignore the environmental protection objectively. This is also related to the shortage of government's environmental propaganda and of making the peasants accept the technology and gain visible income.2. Peasant households have the consciousness of safe. Their negative attitude toward the disease-resistant variety technology is not due to their unconsciousness of safe or their prevention and cure techniques. Only because such safe consciousness is concealed by the state of peasant households for pursuing maximized income under current regulations.3. Peasant households usually hold negative attitude toward the disease-resistant variety technology, but hold positive attitude toward insect-resistant variety, crop rotation technology, chemical prevention and cure technology, especially to the latter. This is mainly result from the technological adaptability, economic adaptability and social adaptability of the technology itself. The disease-resistant variety which popularized by the government have a bad adaptability, while chemical prevention and cure technology and crop rotation technology have better technological adaptability.4. System defect is the basic reason which results in the popularizing difficulty of the disease-resistant varieties and even become the false popularization.5. The peasants' behaviors against diseases and pests are not sensitive to the price of land contract.
