Analyses On The Distribution Pattern Of The Crop-straw Resource And The Status Quo Of Its Application In China

Most of the crop-straw resources was used as farmers living's fuel or as handled by means of being burned, even directly discarded in fields. Not only the resources were wasted, but also the environment was polluted by these improper ways. After investigating and analyzing the amount and distribution of crop-straw resources in the whole country, the results showed: (1) The different species of straws had different ways in the amount of outputs and in the distribution pattern; (2) The percentage of rice straw was the highest, followed by corn straw and the wheat straw. (3) These provinces in which the amount of the straw was more than 250 million ton per year including 8 provinces, for example Shandong and Henan. Meanwhile, and the results of investigating the straw-application status quo in the 8 main provinces were proved that the amount of straws used as energy makes up the main part of the total at present, the percentage of it handled as forage and manure went up, and even more than 25% of the total amount in Gansu, Shandong and Qinghai province, but the phenomenon of discarding directly in the fields still existed. The analysis of the balance between the capacity of providing forage and the demand of herbivores showed that the gap between them proves so wide that only depending on the artificially planted forage and on the natural pasture were not enough .So the straw used as forage played an important role in guaranteeing the sustainable development of animal husbandry. According to the recent application status quo of straw, some feasible methods that depended on the modern science to utilize the resource further efficiently were provided in this paper, to enlarge its function, and to add the value on the original product by processing, in order to keep the need of the sustainable development of the animal husbandry.
