By collecting and investigating of agricultural climate data of tobacco production bases within Shandong province of Qingdao cigarette factory, the differences of the quality, the average outputs, the average price, as well as the ratio of grade "A" tobacco leaves with different varieties in 2001 were studied, and the relationships between the soil chemical conditions and chemical components of tobacco leaf, as well as the smoking quality were analyzed. The effects of climate conditions on the quality of tobacco leaves were also discussed. The proposal for the adjustmemnt of the tobacco production base within Shandong Province of Qingdao cigarette factory were put forwarded and testified them in the course of production in 2002. The results are showed as be lows:1. The content of available nitrogen was higher than usual requirement on every sampling spot, it changed within the range of 58.1-95.6mg/kg. 76.2 mg/kg on the average. The analysis showed there are significant positive correlation between the available nitrogen in soil and the nicotin, and the total N in tobacco leaf respectively. One of the major reason of high nicotine in most samples was the high nitrogen content in soil.2. The available K content in soil changed within the range of 54-254 mg/kg. 119.17 mg/kg on the average, variant coefficient was 38.18%. The analysis showed there are significant negative correlations between the available K. in soil and protein, and CT in tobacco leaf (-0.9540**.-0.3156*). and significant positive correlation between available K in soil and K in tobacco leaf (0.3648*).3. The Cl- content in soil changed within the range of 23.4 - 44.7 mg/kg, 32.47 mg/kg on the average, variant coefficient was 12.46%. The analysis showed, the negative correlation between Cl- content in soil and the burning quality of tobacco leaf was significant-0.351*).4. The analysis on climate factor in the tobacco bases showed, the climate factor affected the tobacco leaf quality evidently. Among all the factors, the rainfall is the major reason of causing low-grade tobacco leaf. The drought in earlier June made the nicotine content more higher than usual.5. The comparison of the quality and the economical index of tobacco leaves of different varieties in 2001 showed, the score of sensory quality of tobacco leaves of different varieties displayed as NC89) yunyan85 ) K326) NC82. among all varieties, the output value of NC82 was the lowest.6. We adjusted and improved base construction by removing unsuitable bases, spreading good varicties and so on in 2002. The comparative study on the quality, the economical indexes in 2001 and in 2002 was carryed out and the result showed, the score of sensory quality in 2002 was raised 1.05 compared with in 2001, the economical indexes of tobacco leaves of bases in 2002 were highly raised, the average...
