Meristem-tip culture and virus elimination of Colocasia esculenta Schott cv. 'Honggengyu'and 'Xiangsuyu' were studied. The effects of 0.5-5 mg/L 6-BA, 0.1-2 mg/L NAA, 0.05-0.15mg/LTDZ, 5~20mg/L Ade,5~10g/L activated carbon and different illiminations and cultivation ways on inducement,differentiation and virus elimination was researched with tips of 0.3 to 0.5 mm size.The results showed that turning green ratio and differentiation ratio of shoot tips were higher on MS medium containing 0.1 mg/L TDZ or 5 mg/L Ade or 5.0 g/L activated carbon. The propagating coefficient was up to 2.85 on MS medium containing 2.0mg/L 6-BA and 0.5 mg/L NAA. Light advanced shoot tips diffentiation.Liquid culture had advantages in shoot differentiation,proliferation and rooting.
