Study On The Farm Animal Welfare

With the fast development of stockbreeding and freedom of international trade, farm animal welfare has been given more and more scientific, political and public concern. The developed countries have built complete system of animal welfare. The international organizations have also given it more concern and will establish international standards, guidelines and proposals. On the contrast, our stockbreeding has a poor base on animal welfare and still present a lot of limitation. Facing the fact that the farm animal welfare will be a new trade barrier, if we do not take appropriate measures in time, farm animal welfare will be a shackle that preclude the development of stockbreeding and the export of animal product.The paper introduces the definition, history, and the actuality of farm animal welfare; introduces the elements of farm animal welfare in developed countries; analyses the effect of farm animal welfare on product costs, meat quality and the international trade; analyses our country's current situations and limitations.
