In recent years,the term "animal welfare" has appeared more and more in our lives.Why did animal welfare rise?In modern society,after taking care of their own living order,people consider the living conditions of animals and think about them.This is the inevitable development of contemporary society.The characteristics of modern farming are large-scale,intensive,and high degree of production automation.Animal cages are equipped with mechanized automation facilities in the production workshop,effectively reducing labor output to reduce economic costs.Since the birth of modern science,Descartes’s "animal machine theory" has excluded animals from moral considerations.Animal welfare is an important part of factory farming and cannot be ignored.At present,animal welfare has already emerged around the world,with the aim of improving and promoting the healthy development of animal husbandry,thereby improving the safety of animal-derived food.However,in China,the popularity of animal welfare is still not in place.At present,there is no animal welfare law in China.Many animal welfare-related management is still not in place.Avian flu,veterinary drug residues,food safety,public health,and human,animal and environmental health problems are becoming more and more prominent.Bad media events such as live rabbit skinning and live bear bile have not only led to international The image is damaged,and China is facing the restriction of international trade barriers in the export of animal-derived food.At present,solving this problem has become a top priority.This paper mainly uses empirical research and literature research methods to study the necessity of animal welfare in factory farming in China and the philosophical reflection on modern agriculture through utilitarianism and related theories of anthropocentrism.The first part of this paper is to sort out the background and development process of " animal welfare" and " factory farming",and then collect data through social survey and literature research methods,and analyze the current animal welfare in China based on the perspective of factory farming.The basic situation,and analyze the multiple effects it brings,and finally reflect on it.The second part of the paper divides the factory farming into three parts:the breeding process,the transportation and slaughtering process,and the sales process.It analyzes the multiple effects caused by the lack of animal welfare and analyzes and thinks about the modern farming methods.To illustrate the necessity and importance of strengthening and improving animal welfare.In the process of breeding,the main analysis is the impact of animal welfare loss on animal health and the environment.In the transportation and slaughter process,the main impact of animal welfare loss on animal abnormal death and video safety is analyzed.In the sales process of animal-derived foods,the main analysis is the impact on the economy and the international image due to the lack of animal welfare.Finally,find the reasons and make suggestions through the above questions.For the future factory farming,we must inherit the advantages of traditional farming,abandon the shortcomings of modern farming,learn from foreign legislative experience,and do a good job in animal welfare science education,in order to improve the current situation of animal welfare in China’s factory farming.
