Observation and investigation had been done on main quantitative characters (strobile, staminate, pollen and seed output) of 95 clones and seedling height and collar diameter of progeny in clonal seed orchard of Pinus tabulaeformis Carr. According to variance analysis, clustering analysis and ordination method in and among clones, the results showed: the difference between quantitative characters is mighty remarkable and there were no remarkable differences among clones. 16 clones of No. 53, No. 80, No. 86, No. 6 and so on were chosen as excellent clones, 35 clones such as No. 101, No. 94, No. 4 were good clones. These surperior clones were the substancial basis for constructing the super seed orchard. There were 39 middling clones, inclouding No. 21, No. 155, No. 131 and so on, as reservation. 6 clones of No. 9, No. 112, No. 143, No. 135, No. 11, No. 145 were giveup clones at last. Constituted and optimized the best condition of distiling DNA of Pinus and RAPD reaction system. Found 3 characteristic locuses, OPD09-06, S37-06 and S3-01, as elementary proof of distinguishing excellent and inferior clones. Three locuses, S499-6 S499-9 and S3-7 which were highly correlation with seedling height or collar diameter. S35-2 and S37-52 were obviously correlation locuses.
