The Ginkgo trees have adocumented history of cultivation by the Chinese for close to a thousand years. It is the age-oldest living fossil in this world and belong to species under first class state protection. The collection, conservation and propagation of ornamental idioplasm in Ginkgo biloba were paied attention in Europe and North America. The breeding selection of ornamental idioplasms laged behind relatively in China. The main problems are that: (1) there is no abundant germ plasm of ornamental idioplasm ; (2)there is no systematic standard of the breeding selection ;(3) there is no systemic reports about the collection and appraisement on ornamental idioplasms in our country up to now. The purposes of this paper are to collect differential idioplasm in China and external country, to probe the genetic and variance laws on growth and physiology traits among ornamental idioplasms and to work out the methods and standards on ornamental cultivar selection of Ginkgo and select out fine ornamental cultivar. The mensuration of stoma is simple moulage and the anatomic conformation is studied through olefin squash method. The mensuration of peroxidase isozyme is Vertical Slab PAGE, and the karyotype analysis was done through squash method and Olympus photograph. In addition, the data analyses are carried out through SPSS 11.0 and SAS ect. Software. The study and appraisement on genetic diversity on twenty-one Ginkgo special germplams from China, US, France, Japan and The Netherland were studied from morphology, cytology, enzymology and genetics in this paper. The main results were obtained as follows: The diversity analyses results in morphology of leaves showed that: there are biggish differences on leaf shape, leaf margin, leaf base, leaf colour, lobe and oil gland of ornamental varieties. The shapes are more plentiful than the ordinary and can be classified in nine species. The results of variance analyses show that there are significant or more significant differences to morphologic indexes such as leaf length, leaf width and area ect. in different producing area. The results of principle component analyses show that: the nearly relation among leaf area, leaf fresh weight, leaf dry weight and content of water were reflected by the first main component. And the second main component was determined by leaf length ,leaf width and petiole lenth those reflected modal character. The result of stepwise regression analysis show that the orders are leaf fresh weight, leaf area, petiole length, leaf dry weight, leaf width and leaf length. The anatomization analyses results showed that:there are no stomas on the lower epidermis and there are many stomas upper epidermis. The results of variance analyses show that there are significant or more significant differences to stomatic length, width and density. The mobility of the stomatic width is the narrowest and the stomatic density is the widest. There are the same laws on stomatic index and stomatic ratio density among different varietyies. The stomatic index of CK is the least and there is evolution on rising, photosynthesis and metabolization . There are many differences among leaf thickness, corneous thickness and leaf thickness and vascular bundle of primary venation. The transverse section of petioles are semicircular and arched ect. and the shape of vascular bundle is not the only. The results of principle component analyses show that: the first main component is determined by leaf thickness, leaf thickness and vascular bundle of primary venation and the second component is determined by length and width of transverse section of petiole and the third is determined bycorneous thickness on and nether the coat. The peroxidase isozyme(POD) analyses results showed that:the two bands that the relative mobility is 0.235 and 0.363 respectively are the diagnostic bands. The results of Q-mode cluster show that:the seven female trees and CK can be classified into four kinds .There are near relation between X8 and CK and...
