36 German Mutton Merino, aged 18 months, were randomly divided into four treatments, each group with 3 repeats, 24 ewe for early pregnancy, 3 ram for each treatment. 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% Detoxicated Castor Bean Meal (DCBM) were added to the daily concentrates of the sheep to study the effects of supplementing Detoxicated Castor Bean Meal on productive performance and reproductive capacity, as well as diet digestibility. The results Showed:After feeding sheep 60 days, sheep were healthy during the whole period. Each treatment was not significant on the food intakes and average gain (P>0.05). With the increasing of DCBM adding, daily gain reduce. Feed conversion ratio and economical benefit were the best in 10% group. The results of digestion and metabolism experiment suggested the apparent digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, gross energy, crude protein and acid detergent fiber in each test group were not higher than that in control group (P>0.05). With the increasing of DCBM adding, the deposition rate of energy was on the decrease, but the digestibility of crude protein was on the increase. The digestibility of crude fat was significantly higher in control group than other groups (P<0.05). Digestible energy and metabolizable energy in supplementing 10%, 15% DCBM groups were lower than that in control group (P<0.05). 10%, 15% DCBM when were supplemented, sperm motility, density and abnormal sperm rate were significant than that in control group(PO.Ol). DCBM did not influence reproductive capacity of ewe. Lamb average weight was not significant in each treatment (P>0.05). Serum total protein, albumin, glutamate pyruvate transaminase content if sheep which were fed DCBM were normal (P>0.05). DCBM did not damage to liver. All the results suggested that, adding 10% DCBM to the daily concentrate of ewe was the better, adding 5% DCBM to the daily concentrate of ram was appropriate.
