This thesis mainly discussed the pharmacological effects of the Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharide and the Codonopsis pilosula saponin, and screened the best condition in which they were extracted. In the experiment, 100 mouses, consisting of 50 female and 50 male, were divided into ten groups at radom according to their weight. Seven of the ten group were received H2O2 by intraperitoneal injection to establish H2O2-harmful mouse model. Three of the seven groups were received the Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharide by intraperitoneal injection. Two of the seven groups were feed with the Codonopsis pilosula saponin. the positive control group was given VE and negative control group was given nothing. The another three groups were received the Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharide, saponin and salt solution respectively. activity of the SOD of mouse brain, liver, kidney, heart and other tissues was detected by the improved pyrogallol autoxidation method ; the blood plasma MDA content and the activities of blood plasma CAT, T-Aoc and whole blood GSH-PX with the reagent kits . the content of IgG in mouse blood serumwas determined by the reagent kits . the ANAE-positive T cells was count through acid-α-naphthyl-acetate esterase, ANAE staining; the macrophage's activity in mouse abdominal cavity was detected by Giemsa-Wright staining; and the spleen slices buried in paraffin was observated . Then, there were three results got from experimentation. First, in terms of extracting solutions, the yield of polysaccharide would increased but the content was decreased, and extracting in anhydrous alcohol before doing in water can get a better effect, the amount of polysaccharide is more. In saponin's extraction, the concentration of alcohol is 70%. On the other hand, the extracting times is important, doing three times in 70% alcohol, the yield and the content of polysaccharide and saponin are both high. Second, the Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharide and saponin can eliminate the harm of H2O2, the ability of anti-oxidation was strengthen, free radicals in mouse body was cleared up efficiently. They can also enhance activities of GSH-PX, SOD and CAT, and make the concentration of MDA in blood plasma decreased. The better dosage of the Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharide is 400 mg/kg and saponin's is 300 mg/kg. the Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharide and saponin can protect mouse against the damage of H2O2, and effectively prevent destroying the organ from superoxide free radicals.
