This paper bases on the scion of American black walnut, analyzes the main factors and physiological biochemical properties that affect its grafting survival rate, compares anatomical properties between different American black walnut strains and selects the good strains. This research provides new material for the introduction of American black walnut in our province even in our country. The result shown as following:1. The most suitable sprout of scion is the 3rd~6th sprouts. The survival rate difference between different stocks is30%~60%. The suitable grafting time is about on April 5. The most fit temperature to form the walnut hurting organization is 22℃~27℃. 2. The total water content of the scions is between 52%~45%. The water content drops through the terminal bud to the 6th auxiliary bud one by one .Liberal water content of the 3rd and 5th auxiliary buds is comparatively low, and the bond water of the 3rd and 5th auxiliary buds is comparatively high. 3.The dissoluble sugar content of scions from the terminal bud drops one by one. The dissoluble sugar content alternation of the same sprout of different scions collected distinct time is obvious. 4.The trend of dissoluble protein content of scions is the same as the dissoluble sugar content. 5. Polyphenol content of terminal bud is most in the scions. Other sprouts'polyphenol content doesn't change much. 6.The polyphenol oxidase activation of the terminal bud is the highest. The least level is the 6th auxiliary bud.7. The result of the first selection is that black walnutⅣis the best, the following is black walnutⅢ,Ⅵ.
