Seven genera and fifteen species of nematode were discovered from withered pine in Fujian province. Eight species belong to Bursaphelenchus are B. aberrans, B. hunanensis, B. hylobianum, B. leoni, B. mucronatus, B. rainulfi, B. thailandae and B. xylophilus. The other seven species of nematode among six genera are Aphelenchoides agarici, A. composticola, Ektaphe-lenchoides pini, Anguillonema sp., Bealius sp., Heterotylenchus sp. and Ditylenchus myceliophagus.B. mucronatus, B. thailandae and B. xylophilus were isolated from the packaging wood imported into Fujian from other provinces. B. fraudulentus, B. fungivorus and B. xylophilus were checked in packaging wood from Japan and Korea imported into Fujian.B. rainulfi and B. thailandae are new species reported in China which were isolated from withered pine in Fujian, while Anguollonema sp., Bealius sp. and Heterotylenchus sp. are new genera in China.B. thailandae can infect the pine branch, complete its life cycles and accelerate the branches of the pine to be withered after being inoculated on the branches of pinus massoniana.Risk of B. xylophilus and other Bursaphelenchus nematodes that may be carried by the imported packaging wood into Fujian is assessed, and advice of the risk management on the imported packaging wood from other provinces in China is suggested.
