The paper studied the diversity of sensitivity of different breeds of maize and Kaoliang , and the effect of the safeners AD-67,R-BAS145138,FY on the detoxification of monosulfuron by bioassay methods in the room. By analyzing the datum of main root length, root fresh weight , plant height, plant fresh weight, GSH(glutathione)concent and ALS (acetolactate synthase)activity, the following could be concluded : The sensitivity of maize was higher than that of Kaoliang to momosulfuron. In sensitivity to momosulfuron Pingan 18 rankde first, Dongnong 248 next and Dongnong 250 the last, IC30 of them was respectively as following : 0.0195mg/kg , 0.0296mg/kg , 0.0704mg/kg ; in sensitivity to monosulfuron Aoza 1 ranked wad first , Tongza 2 next , IC30 of them was respectively as following : 0.1372mg/kg , 0.3754mg/kg . Sensitivity of growth indicators of Dongnong248 and Dongnong 250 to monosulfuron was as following: main root length ranked first, root fresh weight next, plant frest weight third and plant height last. Pingan 18: root fresh weight ranked first, main root length next, plant height third and plant frest weight last. Aoza 1: main root length ranked first, plant height next, plant frest weight third, root fresh weight last. Tongza 2: main root length ranked first, plant height next, root fresh weight third, plant frest weight last. When the congcentration of monosulfuron was 0.01mg/kg, all indicators of Dongnong 248 and Dongnong 250 except root length were inhibited. Root length, root fresh weight, plant height and plant fresh weight of Tongza 2 were weakly promoted at the concentration of monosulfuron, while those of Aoza 1 were inhibeted, and those of Tongza 2 were inhibited when concentration of monosulfuron was 0.025mg/kg . Concent of GSH and activity of ALS of maize and Kaoliang decreased with increasing of monosulfuron concentration and were promoted differently after entering each of the three safeners After the seeds of maize or Kaoliang were only treated by each of the three safeners, influence on all indicators of Dongnong 248 or Aoza 1 wasn't remarkable. Each of the three safeners can protect maize and Kaoliang from being injured by monosulfuron and at the same concentration the effect was obviously or very obviously. Protective effect of the three safeners on Dongnong248 and Aoza 1 as following: AD-67, R-BAS145138, FY. After entering each of the three safeners, GSH concent in root was increased most greatly, and more greatly ALS activity of root length and root fresh weight .
