Studies Of Testing And Regional Layout On Hight Quality Edibal Rices Varity

Eight-one rice varieties which are newly bred or introduced by Hubei Province, were tested by regional trial in 2002, regional layout of high quality edible rice varieties was studied, and the optimal cultivating areas of nine varieties were determined by regional trial which was finished in 2001.The results show us that:1. Three high quality edible rice varieties GP9-21, 20257 and Wuxiang 880, have passed the provincial level evaluation by Hubei Crops Variety Approval Committee, and their rice quality meet the GB standard, can be cultivated in suitable areas.(1) Early rice variety G99-21, belonging to indica oryza, is suitable to cultivate in some areas with no or slight rice blast existence.(2) Early rice variety 20257, belonging to indica oryza, is suitable to cultivate in hilly areas of eastern Hubei Province.(3) Late rice variety Wuxiang 880, belonging to indica oryza, is suitable to cultivate in Jianghan Plain and hilly areas of eastern Hubei and.2. Three high quality rice varieties including 99-518, Yueyou 26 and Yiyon 99 have also passed the provincial level evaluation, but the suitable areas for cultivating need to be researched.(1) Glutinous rice variety 99-518, belonging to indica oryza, is suitable to cultivate as early rice in Hubei, and also can be tentatively cultivated as high quality edible rice in some areas.(2) Late rice variety Yueyou26, belonging to indica oriza, is suitable to cultivate in some areas with no or slight rice blast existence, and also can be tentatively cultivated in some areas as high quality edible rice.(3) Late rice variety Yiyou99, belonging to indica oryza, is suitable to cultivate in some areas with no or slight rice blast existence, and also can be tentatively cultivated in some areas as high quality edible rice.3. Four varieties including 25you6547, xinxiangyou80, zhongyou288 and chunjiang101 have not passed the provincial level evaluation till now, and their rice qualities have been verified to meet the high quality standard by regionaltrial, but the suitable areas for cultivating need to be researched. Among them, 25 you 6547, xinxiangyou80, zhongyou218 have two advantages in good yield and good disease-resistance, and can be used in some areas; the value of the chunjiang 101 was greatly limited because of a very low yield level.(1) Middle rice variety 25 you 6547, belonging to indica oryza, can be tentatively cultivated as high quality edible rice.(2) Late rice variety xinxiangyou 80, belonging to indica oryza, can be tentatively cultivated as high quality edible rice in some areas with no or slight rice blast existence.(3) Late variety zhongyou 288, belonging to indica oryza, can betentatively cultivaJ:ed as high quality edible rice in some areas with no or slightrice blast existence.4. There are sixteen rice varieties including zaonuol003, Hailiangyou No.l, Liangyou 103, Yueyou 938, Yueyou 997, Zhongnuo 2055, 9724, Nanxia 060, Yueyou 9133, 98203, 9927, Wanjing 6193, Xiangjing R109, Wanjing 061, Z 1401 and Yongyou No.3, their rice qualities have been verified to meet the high quality standard by regional preliminary trial, but the more information of yield level, disease-resistance level and suitable areas need to be researched.Among these varieties, there are early varieties Zaonuo 1003, Hailiangyou No.l, Liangyou 103, Middle varieties Yueyou 938, Yueyou 997, Zhongnuo 2055, Late varieties 9724, Yueyou 9133, 98203, 9927, Wanjing 6193, having a good yield and disease-resistance, so they can be used in some aeras; The other varieties including Xiangjing R109, Z 1401 and Yongyou No.3 have a very low value in use because their very low yield level.
