| Up to now, the major researches about Solanum Lyratum Thunb (SL)have been focused on the aspect of pharmacology of the extraction, however, there is few report on the extraction, isolation , purification and determination of glycosidal steroid alkaloida in SL. The present studies took an investigation into these fields, and established a set of methods for extraction, isolation and quantitative determination of glycosidal steroid alkaloida in SL which will be the basis for the advanced pharmacology study; then observed its effect against the snail intermediate host of Schistosoma japonicum for the first time. The main results are as follows:1, The present studies developed a method, which is precision, stability and ruggedness, for quantitative determination of the total content of SL glycosidal steroid alkaloida via UV-vis spectrophotometry. The result showed the optimum determination wavelength was λ=491nm. A good linearity relationship(regression equation: A=0.3012+0.7842C and correlation coefficient:0.9960) between the degree of absorbance and the concentration of analyte was obtained within the range of 0.0394-0.3150mg/ml. The stability, precision and ruggedness were good and their RSD were 0.47%(n=6), 0.25%(N = 5K 1.39%(n=5) respectively. The average recovery rates were 98.7%, 102.3%, 99.4%, with its RSD 1.16%, 1.02% , 1.09%, n=3. respectively. By measuring the content of total glycosidal steroid alkaloida of the SL different part, it was found that the content of its fruit is 1.255% and the grass 0.0903%.2, In the extraction experiment, at first the conditions for the extraction were studied by single factor assays.
