The urogenital system of 49 male monopterus albus were observed by using dissect microscope . The results show the monopterus albus's gonad is deep gray or red with white, is lobular system, and lies at the right side of the abdominal cavity, extending from the end liver, through gallbladder and spleen, to the cloaca. The correlation of monopterus albus's body-measure with semen -quantity was calculated with the SPSS system. The results show the length of the gonad is 27. 96 percent of the body. On average each monopterus albus yields 78.29 ul semen, with the density of 1, 477, 000,000/ml. The correlation between the semen yield and body weight is y=e2.6198+0.0076w. The linear correlation between the semen yield and body length is y=—246. 2949+5. 9941L, and that between the semen and the weight of gonad is y=-9. 0516+81. 3708X. The sperm motilities were determined by using phase contrast microscope. The results show the sperm activity rate is 0%, i.e the the sperm mainly dithers in the same place when the concentration of the NaCl is 0. 9%, and When that of NaCl reduces to 0. 12%the sperm activity rate amounts to 77. 50 % at most. The shortest time for the activating sperm to keep an average activity ratio of 60 % is 14 minutes, while the longest time is 27 minutes. There's marked difference. The life span of sperm is the longest in tap water, amounting to 61.7 minutes, and the shortest in 0.9% NaCl. The keep time when the 60 % sperm can keep active in low temperature ( 0—5℃) is 31.22 hours at most, is remarkably higher that in nomal temperature ( 25-28℃), and its life span may amounts to 63. 8 hours, the difference is also remarkable. The hatch rate of the monopterus albus's zygote is remarkably higher than others When the zygote was hatched when it was half submerged in running water, covered with wet cloth in dark (P<0. 05).
