Based on the screening tests of liquid spawn medium and spawns of Lentinus edodes, this paper studied comparatively the growth state, storage condition and spawn viability, inoculation and cultivation of liquid spawn and solid spawn of Lentinus edodes through cultivation on sawdust compost in plastic bag. The results indicated:1. The optimal formula for the mycelia's growth of Lentinus edodes among 5 liquid mediums was B: potato 200g, saccharose 20g, corn flour 15g, rice bran 15g, KH2PO4 3g, MgSO4 0.5g, pH natural.2. The inoculum of 10 ml per hole is the best among the tests of 5 ml, 10 ml, 15ml per hole.3. The rate of mycelia obtained in liquid medium and the yield of cultivation of L9608 and L241-4 were relatively higher among the strains of the testing 6 strains of Lentinus edodes.4. During the range of 0-25℃, the viability of liquid spawn of L9608 was minus relative to the temperature and time of storage. The optimal temperature is 0-10℃. The optimal time is 3-9 days.5. On the average, for the test of cultivation of liquid and solid spawns of L9608, the mycelia of liquid spawn grew 3.36 mm per day, the mycelia of solid spawn grew 2.72 mm per day. The yield (FW) of Lentinus edodes which was cultivated on liquid spawn was accounted 79.83% for the dry weight of medium, the corresponding yield of solid spawnwas 71.25%.The above result provided an important reference for the further research, popularization and usage of liquid spawns of edible mushroom.
