Resistance of three rice cultivars (Xa21 transgenic rice, unmodified control rice WanA and conventional rice Shanyou 63) to Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae {Xoo) in field trial were evaluated. The results showed : the resistance of Xa21 transgenic rice to Xoo strains â…¡ and â…£ was high, and higher than that of Wan A and Shanyou 63.The phyllosphere and rhizosphere bacterial communities of three tested rice cultivars and their diversities were studied by means of dilution plate count. The results showed : At different growing stages of rice, the total number and diversity index of phyllosphere and rhizosphere bacterial communities of three tested rice cultivars were fluctuated to a certain extent, but the trend was identical. Significant differences were found among the total number and diversity index of phyllosphere and rhizosphere bacterial communities in the same rice cultivars in different time, but no differences among three rice cultivars at the same time. In whole growing stage of rice, the diversity index and evenness index of bacterial communities were higher in phyllosphere than in rhizosphere. The structures and dynamics of arthropod communities in three rice fields were studied. The results showed : the arthropod species quantities in WanA rice field were corresponded with in Xa21 transgenic rice field, and the arthropod species quantities in forenamed two rice fields were more than in Sanyou63 rice field. The arthropod communities of three rice fields were obviously effected by season and climate. The Xa21 transgenic rice field had limit effect on arthropod communities.
