Facility agriculture is an important part of modern agriculture. Compared with developed countries, some actualities in greenhouse should be improved in China, which include lower technology, bad control condition, and inferior management.With the intensive and scale development of agriculture facility and the advancement of their intelligent management, modern greenhouse technology is witnessing a trend of integration of greenhouse production and its management through remote communication. This paper is for developing the software of the greenhouse environment monitoring and control system based on LabVIEW, from the sustentation fund 2005 science and technology project of Zhejiang Province "research on key technology of the low cost and applicable environment measurement-control system based on embedded technology in facility agriculture".The contents are as follow:1. According to the environment factors such as temperature, humidity, illumination and the concentration of carbon dioxide, which influence crop grow in greenhouse, the paper chooses the sensors and actuator corresponding.2. Virtual instrument is beyond compared with traditional instrument. The paper applies the sensor technique, computer information technology, virtual instrument technology and database technology into the system software development. The communication between upper- and lower-lever computers supports the real-time acquisition and display of the environment factors, control signals output and database management.3. By using the Web Publishing tools in LabVIEW, the monitoring and control based on network could be easily realized, and it's also a trend to combine the network and virtual instrument technology.4. The whole system has the property of friendly interface, convenient operation and reasonable configuration. Modularization development has better universality and is easy to expand.5. The summary of this paper points out the deficiency and the improvement direction of system development.
