The cotton is the main economic prop industry in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. At present, mechanization have been realized on sowing seeds , applying fertilizer, middle ploughs, spraying pesticides. But cotton harvesting has still depended on the manual work mostly, It has obstacled the cotton production and improvement of the labor productivity level in the great degree. Agronomic technology of the cotton harvest has been one of restrictive factors in practicing cotton development stratagem in Xinjiang. The technology of mechanical harvesting which has been implemented is an important measure in solving the problem. The agronomic technology of mechanical harvesting mainly depends on such key technique as the distance between rows and plant, variety screening and the technology which the leaves are ripened and desquamated early. In view of the different natural conditions and the agricultural production level, It has the important practical significance in developing the essential technology in various reclamation areas of machine picks.The study was carried through according to the climatic characters and agronomic production level of the Kuerle reclamation area at present. The experiment was arranged about the distance between rows and plants, variety screening and defoliant screening in the 29 groups of the second agricultural division. According to the plot experiment, the big area demonstration, outside investigation and inside seed research, applying statistic methods, the results were as follows:The most suitable row and plant distance configurement way is 3 membranes 12 lines (66+10) ×9.5cm, 4 lines each membrane, 10+66+10cm row distance on the membrane space , membrane row distance 55cm, connection span 66±2cm in Kuerle mechanic harvest reclamation areaThe Bamian 3 and K31 varieties are suitable to the cotton mechanic harvest, and the output and quality was better than present major breeds.The most economical, practical and good synthetic performance defoliant dosage was 450g/hm~2 Ruifeng marked defoliant + 1050g/ hm~2 Ustilan. The optimum temperature of spraying the mixture defoliants was the 18~25℃ at the daily average temperature, the best spraying time is on September 10 ~15th, The spraying can be practiced at the time which the ruptured cotton wool rate achieves 40%.
