In this experiment the vegetable traits of 88 varieties that was selected by our research group from 300 varieties based on appearance quality was further studied. In order to study the suitable harvest periods of different mature-period types, the changes of biochemical substances and 100-pods fresh weights( 9 premature, 15 mid mature and 15 late mature materials that were selected from 88 varieties) were analysed. 43 varieties that qualified as vegetable soybeans wre selected by analysing the quality traits of 88 varieties. To selected some varieties that were fit for international markets require, appearance, nutrient, edible qualities and 100-pods fresh weights of 43 varieties were tested during suitable harvest period, and selected 10 varieties of different mature-period type for strain performance test. In the last, the genetic diversity of 43 vegetable soybeans were studied by using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) technique. The main results were as follows:1. Suitable harvest periods of different mature-period types were determined through testing the changes of fat, amino acid, protein, starch, soluble sugar, V_c and 100-pods fresh weights during pod development periods. The results showed that the suitable harvest periods of premature type were about 35d after flowering, mid mature 40d, late mature 45d.2. Four better varieties qualified as vegetable soybeans in international markets were determined by testing the appearance, nutrient, edible qualities of 43 varieties during the suitable harvest periods of each types.3. Ten varieties of each mature-period types were selected from 43 for the strain performance test and by combing quality testing experiments, we selected Lv75 as export varieties and Chunlv60 can be cultivation in Hebei province at large scale.4. The genetic diversity of the vegetable soybeans was studied at molecular level based on AFLP technique. The results showed there were only a few of polymorphism bands based on AFLP technique and the cluster analysis indicated that there were not close relations between genetic diversities and geographic origin.
