Chinese chive maggots occur widely, while the control was difficult. Application of pesticide was the mostly control means. In order to get rid of Chinese chive maggot, excessive pesticide was applied on Chinese chive through growth time, some of them had high or persistent toxicity and resulted in foods and environmental pollution, and disserved human health. Therefore, in order to control maggot and produce Chinese chive without pesticide, in the experiment, both surface layer drying of soil or sand by SDI controlling water and insect-proof net were used, and the effects were studied by investigating the characteristics of growth and quality of Chinese chive, occurrence of maggot and its damage to Chinese chive. Results were as follow:1. In the process of Chinese chive cultivation by soil and sand, surface layer was keeping drying by subsurface drip irrigation, the measurement inhibited adult maggot from ovipositing, reduced the density of maggot larva and decreased the damage of maggot to Chinese chive.2. In cultivation of Chinese chive by sand, fertilizer element and water in nutrient solution was enough to Chinese chive, compared to control, which significantly increased content of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoid in leaves of Chinese chive, enhanced plant height and fresh weight of per plant, the yield of Chinese chive was increased 49.7%.3. The adults of maggot were efficiently segregated by covering with 20 mesh or 30 mesh or 50 mesh insect-proof net, which decreased respectively the density of maggot larva by 74.72%, 94.85%and 91.03%, reduced the damage to Chinese chive by 46.53%, 93.96%and 81.04%. cultivation of Chinese chive covered with 30 mesh insect-proof net during the middle ten-day of March to the last ten-day of November, planted in plastic tunnel in...
