Lee68, an international and common-used salt-tolerant Glycine max ,was crossed with N23227, Glycine soja collected from Jiangsu Dafeng. 3060 ,which was more tolerant in salt tolerance than its parents its parents was found from F4 generation.Under salt stress, the inhibition of seed germination, seedling emergence and growth of 3060 was lower as compaired with its parents. The electrolytic leakage and MDA contents of 3060 was also less than its parents. 3060 recovered fastest after being delivering from from salt stress. After 18 day treatment of NaCl(150 mmol·L-1 ), 3060 accumulated less Na+ and Cl- to in shoots, especially in the leaves in contrast to its parents, and more K+ in roots and shoots. This resulted in K+/Na+ ratio in the leaves. To characterize the translocation of Na+ and K+ in plant ,thexylem sap was analysed. Lower centration of Na+ was found in the xylem sap of 3060 than its parents, indicating that less Na+ was transported to leaves in 3060 . This may be one of mechanisms of salt-tolerance exceeding its parents.Under salt stress, the changes of activity of SOD, POD, CAT and APX under salt stress were different. The activity of SOD and POD in the roots and leaves of 3060 all decreased within 6 days. The activity of CAT in the roots of 3060 obviously decreased under salt stress, while the activity in the leaves slightly increased. The activity of APX in the leaves of 3060 evidently increased , but the activity in the roots didn't change. On aspects of agricultural and chemical quality of seeds, the color of 3060 seeds was similar to Lee68 .The content of lipid and Methionine in 3060 seeds were higher than that of Lee68.
