The fresh-eaten broad bean industry began developing in 1990s. The production of the fresh-eaten broad bean profits the increasing of broad bean's amount of food, and balancing the nutrition; It profits the expanding of the broad bean's area, increasing the proportion of the legume in the area of crops, and making the cultivation structure suitable; It profits the improvement of the output per area, increasing peasant's income, making the countryside richer.The selection and breeding of the fresh-eaten broad bean new cultivar is an action that serves for the industrialization of fresh-eaten broad bean. The selection and breeding of fresh-eaten broad bean new cultivar Tongxian no.1 is a scientific and technical research for this.The selection and breeding method of the raw eaten broad bean new cultivar Tongxian no.l is based on local cultivars with good adaptability, by continuous line selection, regarding high heritability hundred-seed weight as the breach, and it has gained better breeding result. The benefits of Tongxian no.l was behaved in three aspects: Firstly, the output had an all-sided improvement, produced fresh pods 1127.99-1189. 33kg/667m~2, fresh straws 3339.0kg, dry seeds 230.1-234.64kg, dry straws 831.0kg. Secondly, the standard of the good was high, the rate of heterochromatic seeds was only 0. 68%, the fresh weight of single pod was 16.892g, fresh seed hundred-seed weight was 472.4g. Thirdly, main product and by-product were both valuable. Compared with Haimendabaipi, it was not only showed in the increase of product in 4 aspects, but also showed the advantage of "dry to fresh ", the benefit of the main products increased 5. 12 percentage points, the benefit of the by-product increases 3.46 percentage points, the benefit of both main and by product improved 4.27 percentage points.Through studying, we summarized the breeding goal of the raw eaten broad bean: 667 m~2 fresh pod output > 1000kg, fresh straw output > 2800kg, single pod fresh weight > 15 g; the long and wide of fresh pod is 10.0*2. 40cm; the long and wide of fresh seed is 2. 7*1. 90cm, the fresh hundred-seed weight > 450g, the dry hundred-seed weight > 175g, the soluble sugar content and protein content of fresh seed > 10%, heterochromatic seeds rate <5%, no tannin or the content of tannin is extremely low.
