| A total of seven varieties and lines of waxy corn which, with great genetic diversity was used selectively as parents to make complete diallel crossing in accordance with the Griffing methed 1 in order to study the inherence of yield and main agronomic characters of waxy corn. 49 combinations were made in 2004, and planted at experimental plot of Jilin agricultural university scince 2005. Quantitative analysis of ten main agronomic characters (including yield) of waxy corn was studied as follows: heterosis analysis, analysis of the general combining ability and the specific combining ability, regression and correlation of analysis between different type of combining ability and expression of F1 hybrid, heritability analysis of yield and main agronomic characters. According to above analysis parents and societies were evaluated as follow:(1) Heterosis: The analysis the trend of heterosis indicates, there are higher positive heterosis in heterosis and heterobeltiosis, so it shows that among these forty-two combinations it exists some superior combinations. 7×5, 5×7, 2×7, 5×1, 7×2. 1×5, 7×3, 5×6, 6×5, 1×6, 6×1, 3×7, 1×7, 7×1, 4×5, 4×6 have higher heterosis in the ten main agronomic characters than the other combination.It is known from the average value of heterosis index that grain yield have the strongest heterosis,then Grain number per row>100-grain weight> Ear height> Ear length >Plant height> Ear width> Ear row number> Stem diameter >Rare ear length。 The order of variation index of heterosis index is Rare ear length>Grain yield>Ear height>100-grain weight> Grain number per row> Ear length> Ear width> Plant height> Ear row number> Stem diameter. So in these ten characters, grain yeild, ear height, 100-grain weight, grain number per row. ear length have more wild margin to choose and the margin of other characters is narrow.(2) General combing ability: The result of the general combining ability analysis indicated that the variation caused among cross combination in ten traits was caused by additive effect and the nonadditive effect. The variety of N45, N51,N69 and N73 was superior to other varieties in general combining ability. These four varieties can be used as good parent for cross breeding of waxy corn.(3) Specific combining ability: The result of specific combining ability analysis showed that specific combining ability of 71.43% combinations was positive, the nice societies were 2×7(1.416), 1 ×5(1 .293), 1×2(0.7955), 1×6(0.7419) with higher and positive specific combining ability.(4) Effect of reciprocal cross: Among the effect of reciprocal cross 10 combinations were positive value in 21, about 47.62% in total.
