The soil is an essential element of the natural environment .It is also a precious natural resource related to the human survival .However, the soil salinization occurring in the fragile ecological environment of arid area has caused not only a dramatic decrease in the soil production, but also a serious imbalance of the ecological environment, giving vise to the natural disasters and threatening human's living, activity and development. Therefore, it is arduous historical mission for the whole society to use the water and soil resources reasonably, to protect and restore the healthy ecological environment in the arid area. The Ebinur Lake Basin is situated in the center of our interior mainland the west of Songorint Basin in Xinjiang. The distinctive geographical position has shaped its valuable ecological environment. At present time, it is an urgent task for the environment workers taking the Ebinur Lake Basin as the research area, based on the dynamic observation of the soil salinization and the analysis of the driving power to propose the effective measures to preventing the soil salinization which can be taken as the policy-making bases for the ecological protection in this area.Taking 1972 Landsat Mss,1991 Landsat and 2000 Landsat the ETM~+ images as the data pool ,using remote sensing processing technology ,based on the feature analysis of the place things' spectrum, first removing the disturbance information ,then carrying on the picture inversion to obtain the characteristic images of salinization in varied degrees, establishing the land use classification system, together with the training samples selected according to the open country investigation materials and the computer surveillance classified method, this article with draws the remote sensing information of every kind of place things. In so doing ,using the dynamic degree index and the transferring matrix of land use, unifying the GIS technique ,it analyzes the various degrees of the salinization and, the changes of land use both in space and in time of this area during the last 30 yeas .From the influence of nature and human two aspects, the article analyzes the cause and development of the salinization ,providing the policy-making basis for the soil salinization management and the sustainable development of the ecological...
