It was conducted that cucumber seeds were treated by Ethephon at the concentration of 4000㎎·l-1,5000㎎·l-1,6000㎎·l-1,7000㎎·l-1,8000㎎·l-1 and 9000㎎·l-1 for 12 hours (seed-soaking) and water was check (CK) measuring the physiological and biochemistry index of cucumbers, from cotyledon to the fifth leaf. The index of procreation growth and output of cucumbers, by studying the female effect.The results showed that : the activities of SOD,POD,and the content of chlophy in cucumber were higher than that of the control after treating cucumber seeds by Ethophon,at the same time, the tendency increased firstly,then decreased.The three indexes were all the highest in the third leaf stage.The tendency of activity of IAAO decreased firstly, then increased. The activity of IAAO decreased to the minor. The activity of CAT and the content of protein changed inconspiciouly. However the content of nucleic acid and the ratio of carbon and nitrogen were increased. The content of soluble suger and the activity of tannin were higher than that of the control,which were a tendeny of increasing firstly, then decreased.The content of them getting to the maximun in the second leaf stage. There were positive relevance between the activity of SOD and POD,the content of chlorophyll, the soluble sugar, protein and tannin, but there were negative relevance between the activity of IAAO and the ratio of carbon and nitrogen. The every physiological and biochemistry indexes were the most significant different with the concentration of 7000㎎·l-1and . 8000㎎·l-1...
