| In order to make sure the suitable sowing date and reasonable fertilizer dosage of Spherical Fennel in Shandong province,"QiuyuNo.1"and"BianyuNo.1"were used to study the effects of sowing date and fertilizer dosage of nitrogen(N), phosphorus(P) and kalium(K) to the growth, physiological characters, yields and quality of Spherical Fennel. And then the feasibility of Spherical Fennel annul production were discussed. The results were as follow:1. Effects of sowing date on the growth, physiological characters, yields and quality of Spherical Fennel1.1 When cultured in spring, the optimal sowing date for QiuyuNo.1 was 15th Feb., BianyuNo.1 was 5th Feb., cultured in autumn, the date for QiuyuNo.1 was 15th July, BianyuNo.1 was 5th July. When sowed under above days, the plant of Spherical Fennel was higher, the number of leaves was more, the plant width and the bulb was bigger. And the root system activity, NR activity and the content of chlorophyll were higher, too.1.2 The quality of Spherical Fennel cultured in autumn was better than cultured in spring: the contents of soluble sugar, free amino acid, Vc and soluble proteins in bulb cultured in autumn were higher evidently.1.3 Cultured in spring, sowed on 15th Feb., the yield of QiuyuNo.1 was highest, 1558.08 kg·667m-2; sowed on 5th Feb., the yield of BianyuNo.1 was highest, 1429.79kg·667m-2. Cultured in autumn, sowed on 15th July, the yield of QiuyuNo.1 was highest, 2117.11kg·667m-2; sowed on 5th July, the yield of BianyuNo.1 was highest, 2194.82kg·667m-2. The yield in autumn was higher distinctly than that in spring. So the suitable producing season of Spherical Fennel in Shandong province was autumn. Seedling breeding in greenhouse and transplanted into farmland, annual production can be realized.2.
