Soil fungi are those which have some part of or whole life cycle either in or directly associated with soil environment. Their role in soil is an extremely complex one and is fundamental to the soil ecosystem. It is an immensely diverse group of organisms. Fungi Imperfeci are the most abundant in species, and dematiaceous hyphomycetes account for more than one half of it. China span cold temperate zone, temperate zone, warm temperate zone, subtropical zone and tropical zone, soil types and vegetation types are abundant, soil as a complex ecosystem, may contain plenty of fungi resource. This study focuses on investigating this group fungi in the Cold Temperate Zone-Temperate Zone of Northeast China, and intend to discover more genera and species then enrich the species diversity of China. We selected representative sites in Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning 3 provinces and collected 224 soil samples. We get more than 500 isolates from those soil samples using soil plate methods and dilution plate methods. Based on careful identification, we discoved 81 species included in 37 genera of dematiaceous hyphomycetes.Among them, 2 taxa are new to China, they are Drechslera clavata W. Zhang et T. Y. Zhang, Humicola pedunclensis W. Zhang et T. Y. Zhang. 18 species are newly recorded to China, i.e. Cordana pauciseptata Preuss, Eladia saccula (E. Dale) G. Smith, Gamsia dimera (Gams) Morelet, Gliomastix murorum (Corda) Hughes, Graphium penicillioides Corda, Monodictys bicolorata Casta n eda Ruiz et Guarro, Myrothecium advena Sacc, Myrothecium brachysporum Nicot, Periconia hispidula (Pers. ex Pers.) Mason & M. B. Ellis, Phialophora malorum (Kidd & Beaum.) McColloch, Scolecobasidium coprophilum (Subram. & Lodha) Matsush., Stachybotrys kampalensis Hansf, Stachybotrys sansevieriae Agarwal & Sharma, Torula herbarum f. quaternella Scacc, Trichocladium opacum (Corda) Hughes, Ulocladium chartarum (Preuss) E. G Simmons, Ulocladium tuberculatum Simmons, Veronaea musae M. B. Ellis. 3 new recorded genus are Eladia G.
